Breaking ground on a bright future
Our city is growing and so are our healthcare needs. To help meet them, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is building a new healthcare destination.
In late October of this year, preliminary site work began at the corner of San Vicente and Gracie Allen on the eastern side of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The new, 450,000-square-foot Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion will be home to one of the most innovative research and state-of-the-art patient care facilities in the world.

Redefining modern medicine
The Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion will take a fresh approach to patient care by integrating clinical care and scientific research in one building. With a research pavilion on the top two floors and clinics on the lower levels, our physicians will bring scientific breakthroughs to their patients with maximum safety and speed. This model of “bench-to-bedside” treatment is the key to future development of new practices in medicine and represents Cedars-Sinai’s commitment to providing the most advanced care for you and your loved ones.
Designed with your needs in mind
Open space, accessibility and comfort are among the patient-centered elements of the new Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion. The design will enhance the patient experience, making every visit as welcoming and comfortable as possible. Ample parking (six of the Pavilion’s 11 stories), elevators that go directly to patient care floors, and user-friendly directions will ensure smooth and easy access while minimizing the amount of time (and stress) a visitor experiences.
Green from the ground up
The design of the Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion emphasizes utility, sustainability, and green living. Featuring innovative environmental design elements, the Pavilion will define patient care for decades to come.
To make the Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion a progressive model of energy conservation and consciousness, we engaged the services of HOK, one of the world’s leaders in the design of green buildings.
Opening in summer 2013
Official groundbreaking ceremonies will take place in January 2010 with an expected opening in summer 2013. In the meantime, we invite your thoughts and feedback. We will try to make the construction process as unobtrusive as possible. Remember to check this site periodically for updates and progress reports.
